Mark Suprenant brings business acumen and broad-based corporate law experience to Deeb Blum Murphy Frishberg & Markovich, PC. Mr. Suprenant has more than 25 years of experience as an attorney in private practice and, most recently, as the General Counsel of a locally headquartered, multi-billion dollar retailer ranked among the 50 largest privately held companies in the United States. With insight into the most complex, multifaceted corporate legal issues, Mr. Suprenant provides counsel on a wide variety of topics that are critical to the operation of a modern business. He carries a proven track record of delivering strategic direction, creative problem solving, and innovative management skills.
Labor and Employment
Mr. Suprenant is well-versed in a variety of complicated employment matters, having investigated, defended, and settled hundreds of employment discrimination claims brought in federal and state courts, as well as providing counsel for thousands of workplace issues not resulting in litigation. His experience also includes: evaluation of employee manuals, employment and consulting contracts, and confidentiality agreements; advice and strategic insight regarding the hiring, firing, and disciplining of employees; and guidance on state and federal laws regarding discrimination, disability accommodations, and family leave.
Finance, Real Estate, and Investor Relations
Skilled in investor relations, Mr. Suprenant has structured shareholder agreements and has significant experience with employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs). He has negotiated and drafted hundreds of real estate acquisition documents, and also has hands-on experience with financing and credit agreements, as well as company stock grant and stock option plans. Mr. Suprenant's practice also focuses in part on structuring and documenting complex corporate transactions, which includes drafting and negotiating a broad range of contracts and other commercial documents.
Government Relations
Mr. Suprenant has dealt successfully with governmental investigations, bringing strategic guidance to his clients. With a profound understanding of local political landscapes, Mr. Suprenant also provides practical advice to business owners on the impacts of existing and proposed laws and regulations on their businesses. He provides strategic insight to business owners regarding how they can create relationships with local government in order to build their companies and prevent potential conflict in the future.
Licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, Mr. Suprenant received his B.S. from St. John's University and his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law.
